Dragster Carries SOWF Logo

Running a locksmith shop keeps Tampa's Glen Launey busy and he spends plenty of time teaching Sunday school and doing other church related work. He also serves the drag racing community as chaplain for Racers for Christ. But, busy as he is, Glen likes to have some good clean, noisy fun of his own. He likes to run his “Altered Dragster” class race car at drag strips around Florida or anywhere else someone wants to see it.

It looks like a scaled-down version of drag racing's famous “Funny Car” class, but the performance is no laughing matter. Thanks to a 500 horsepower engine and specialized chassis it can cover a quarter mile in just over 9 seconds, at speeds of 150 miles an hour.

While Glen says the car is just his way of having fun, it also carries a serious message: he's put the Special Operations Warrior Foundation logo on the front of the car along with the website location.

Glen says there no mystery to why he supports the Warrior Foundation: “I like what you people stand for.” He also notes that his daughter Kathy is an Air Force Senior Airman currently pulling her third middle eastern tour of duty and he feels supporting SOWF is a way of showing his support for military personnel.

Look for Glen Launey's “Altered Dragster” at drag strips around Florida or anywhere else he can use it to help people have fun while sharing his support of the Special Operations Warrior Foundation and the words of Jesus Christ.
