11th Special Forces Group (Airborne) Reunion Celebrates Success of Unit and Honors Fallen Warriors through donation to SOWF
(August 9, 2008) -- The 11th Special Forces Group celebrated together at a biennial reunion at Fort Meade, MD, and included a $2,700 donation to the Special Operations Warrior Foundation as part of its festivities to honor special operations personnel who have made the ultimate sacrifice.
Originally activated in March 1961, the 11th Special Forces Group (Airborne) was relocated from Boston to Fort Meadein 1973 and then de-activated in 1992.
Nearly 250 members of the unit, family members and friends got together for a day of fellowship, fun, and remembering those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.
The generosity of the 11th SFG Reunion Committee will support the Special Operations Warrior Foundation and its programs to provide college educations to the surviving children of fallen warriors.
