Debbie and Todd Pressing On
At the midway point of their six thousand mile motorcycle ride honoring their son, Debbie Argel-Bastian and her husband Todd are feeling a bit road weary. Sore knees and swollen ankles are just part of the price their paying for their effort to raise money for the Special Operations Warrior Foundation.
After a weekend in Milwaukee amid the celebrations of Harley-Davidson's 105th anniversary, Todd and Debbie have started the long journey home to Lompoc, California. Among this week's highlights are a stop in Junction City, Kansas where they will attend a fundraising dinner at the local Harley-Davidson dealership and receive a proclamation from the Junction City city commission.
Perhaps the most emotional part of the trip will come later in the week when Debbie makes a speech at the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs and attends a “Happy Hour” fund raiser at a popular Colorado Springs watering hole.
Todd and Debbie's grandson will receive a free college education from the Special Operations Warrior Foundation and this ride is their way of raising money and awareness for SOWF. The total raised so far is nearly $28,000.
