Busy Week for SOWF

September 15 through the 22nd was a busy week for the Special Operations Warrior Foundation. September 18th, the annual Tribute to Special Operations dinner in the Washington, D.C. suburb of Springfield, Virginia drew hundreds of corporate sponsors and friends. Among the highlights was a keynote speech from former CENTCOM Commander retired General John Abizaid who praised today's American military as the “finest fighting force since the days of Rome.”

Over the weekend, SOWF benefitted from the annual Whomper Stomper Open Golf Tournament in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. Hosted by combat controller Air Force Master Sergeant William Calvin Markham, the tournament is another grass roots fund raiser to help SOWF provide college educations for the children of fallen Special Operators.
