Former Delta Force Operator “Dalton Fury” Donates $25,000 from Book Sales
Tampa, FL (May 1, 2009) -- Former Delta force ground commander and author of the controversial book, Kill Bin Laden, recently presented the Special Operations Warrior Foundation with a check for $25,000 from the proceeds of his book.
Dalton Fury is the pseudodym of a former special operator who led U. S. troops into Afghanistan's Tora Bora mountains in November, 2001, just ten weeks after the terrorist attack on 9/11, when Osama Bin L aden was on the run.
Fury's book, Kill Bin Laden: A Commander's Account of the Hunt for the World's Most Wanted Man,” is a riveting account of the most important, but also least understood, battles in the war on terror. Fury's account tells of the bravery of the men under his command, but also of the intelligence failures that allowed Bin Laden and many al-Qaeda leaders to escape from the mountains.
In addition to offering an eyewitness account to an amazing story about what happened in battle and what didn't happen, the book also serves to honor the Delta Force operators who necessarily remain anonymous, unsung, dedicated, and still very busy.
The author made the donation to the Special Operations Warrior Foundation, a non-profit organization that provides full college educations to the surviving children of fallen Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps special operations personnel as well as immediate financial assistance to severely wounded special operators.
