Northrop Grumman's 5th Annual SOWF Golf Tournament Raises $28,000 for SOWF
Honors Memory of Chief Special Warfare Operator Eric Shellenberger
Northrop Grumman Corporation Undersea Systems hosted its 5th Annual SOWF Memorial Golf Tournament on October 12th at The Courses Fort Meade. The tournament, which was in memory of Chief Special Warfare Operator Eric Shellenberger, raised nearly $30,000 for the Special Operations Warrior Foundation and its program supporting the families of fallen and wounded Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps special operations personnel.
Chief Shellenberger, 36, was assigned to the SEAL Delivery Vehicle Team One in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. He lost his life in a training accident in June. Shellenberger enlisted in the Navy in 1999, after serving more than eight years in the Marine Corps. He graduated from Navy SEAL qualification training in June 2001.
His family joined the tournament participants who honored a fallen warrior.
The Special Operations Warrior Foundation supports the families of fallen warriors through college educations for their surviving children.
