The Special Operations Warrior Foundation recently received a donation that was heartfelt in simplicity and generosity. A young man from Southern California decided it was time to find a way to help someone else instead of indulging himself on a very special day. We are proud to reprint this letter from Jonny.
Dear Mr. Carney,
I think it is so amazing what the Special Operations Warrior Foundation provides for the veterans and their families. My grandfather, great-grandfather and great uncle served in the Army and have helped me understand the bravery, dedication and honor of soldiers.
For my bar mitzvah (sic) in November, I received almost one thousand dollars as gifts from friends and family.I would like to donate nine hundred dollars to SOWF.My check is enclosed.I believe it is more important for a child to see his injured mother or father, or for a student to get a college education, than for me to use the money to buy a video game or some other useless toy.I thank you guys so much for providing these brave souls with help for their families. You are providing love and joy for their families.
