TAMPA, March 25 - The Trek For Hope is, and the World Wide Ride will be, two of the more visible events to benefit SOWF in 2011.
Matt Parrish, the Army veteran walking from Tampa, FL, to Los Angeles, CA, and back for SOWF, is currently in Mississippi - and already a quarter of the way to his fundraising goal.
Now two months into the Trek, Matt expects his trip to take at least a full year. Part of the reason is that he is constantly stopped by curious people along the way. He explains what he is doing and why, and many of them reach into their wallets and pocketbooks and make donations on the spot.

Though it's still more than a month away (April 30), the 2011 World Wide Ride, organized by Bo McCormick of Ft. Myers, FL, a member of the Special Forces Motorcycle Club, has attracted hundreds of riders. Registrations are coming in from North America, Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia.
Bo, who has hosted a local motorcycle ride for SOWF for year, is hoping to set a Guinness record for the number of bikes and riders participating in a single event, on one day.
There are tabs on the left side of our homepage for the Trek For Hope and the World Wide Ride. A link to Matt's blog and Facebook site are on the Trek page; while a registration form for the ride is on the World Wide Ride page.
