What services does the Special Operations Warrior Foundation offer?

The Special Operations Warrior Foundation assistance program consists of three major components: educational counseling, scholarship assistance, and wounded warrior assistance. The Special Operations Warrior Foundation provides scholarship grants - not loans - to children of special operations forces who died as a result of an operational mission or training accident. The funds are used by the student for tuition, books, fees, room & board, transportation and personal costs.

The Special Operations Warrior Foundation provides free college scholarship grants for tuition, books, fees, room and board for the surviving children of Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps special operations personnel killed in an operational mission or training accident. Currently the foundation is committed to providing scholarships for more than 700 children. In 2007, SOWF provided a total of $1.5 million in scholarship grants, educational programs and financial counseling for 111 students at colleges and universities across the country.

The Special Operations Warrior Foundation provides immediate financial assistance to special operations personnel severely wounded in the global war on terror. The Foundation has provided more than $500,000 in financial assistance to severely wounded personnel to assist with immediate needs such as travel, lodging, transportation, etc.

How many children does the program support?

Today, more than 700 deserving children exist who should not be denied the education their fallen parent would have wanted for them. The Special Operations Warrior Foundation is committed to providing scholarship grants, not loans, to all children who lose a parent in an operational mission or training accident while serving in Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps special operations.

How does the Special Operations Warrior Foundation raise its money?
